Backpacking in Switzerland
September brought a dream come true for me – backpacking the Swiss Alps. Despite being six months pregnant we embarked on a memorable five-day hiking trip. Our days were spent trekking several miles up and down mountains while straining to get glimpses of the beautiful mountains through the fog.
Although we were able to capture some of our memories through photographs, there are some things impossible to document. Things such as the music of the Alps. At almost any given moment we could hear the soft tinkering of cow bells as we intruded on their fields. And how do you record the brisk breeze and the sweet scent of mountain air, so clean and fresh?
It was a trip I’ll never forget. There was a magical element that comes from being completely worn out, but having accomplished such feats as tackling a 1,000 meter mountain in one afternoon. Tyler and I continue to dream about our trip and can’t wait until our son is old enough to join in the joys of travel.

Absolutely gorgeous. I love the shot of the tent next to the cows.
